Book #6, the final episode, in The Journal Series, is now live on Amazon in ebook. Print will be available on May 18. It has been an awesome journey for me. Thank you all.
What an incredible journey writing The Journal Series has been for me. I’ve learned a great deal about writing and about myself. I’ve always loved to write, to make things up, every since I was a young teen. The Journal: Cracked Earth, was my first published novel, and I just finished The Journal: Martial Law, book #6 in the series, and….. the finale. I don’t have a release date on it yet, but look for it in the next six months.
In between the six books that comprise The Journal, I’ve also written A Preppers Cookbook: 20 years of cooking in the woods, which has numerous tales of my life in the woods; There is also EMPulse, another dystopian book which may (or may not) be my next series; and The Reef Roamer, the very first full length novel I wrote, a light romance novel written almost 25 years ago and finally now in book form. I’ve got a couple more books rolling around my mind, but I need to take a short break from writing.
For everyone who has followed Allexa Smeth in the Journal, thank you! She might not be back but I will!!!
It’s a cloudy, dreary day out, weather wise, but I have a sunny smile! I just finished checking off my “Winter Prep – Fall Chores” list. This computer saved list helps me keep track of all the things I need to get done before the snow flies … and snow will be here soon.
Being single, if I don’t do something, it doesn’t get done, so this print out is critical to me. It shows everything from restocking the pantry to changing the furnace filters; from filling the woodshed to filling the metal trash can with bird seed; from turning the cistern to turning the birdbath.
I love lists. They keep me focused, and it’s so easy to forget something when I want to be outside enjoying the fall and all the beautiful colors. I try to do that too, because it’s just as important to live your life as it is to do anything else.
Now, MY list will be different than yours. I need to shut off the outside water faucet and drain that pipe, or it will freeze and burst, and the bird bath is the same: if I don’t turn it over, it will fill from rain or snow, freeze, and break the concrete bowl. This is because here in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, it gets cold, really cold, and that can happen over night. Sometimes there is no warning when the temperatures drop and I have to be ready, I have to be PREpared. If you live in the south, you won’t have these issues, but you will have some I don’t.
So, make a list of all that you do or need to do, to be ready for the change of season, keep it saved to your computer, and update when you need to. It will help keep you moving forward.
And remember, no matter who your candidate is, get out and VOTE!
Today is the day! My latest book, EMPulse is now available in ebook!

I did an interview with Time, Inc. about my new cookbook. I’m very pleased with how it was presented.
