While I personally may not buy into all the hype about the dreaded Mayan prophecies surrounding 12/21/2012, I’m certainly not above using this hype as a means to promote disaster readiness. I’m all for anything that will bring more people into the preparedness fold, so to speak.
So, here’s the plan. Each week between now and December 21, 2012, I’m going to post a short article here detailing something you should do to become better prepared for whatever life deems necessary to toss your way. Some weeks may be concrete tasks to perform. Other weeks might entail purchasing specific supplies. Still others might be more along the lines of mind exercises. Some of the assignments will be ongoing as well.
The goal is if you follow all the instructions, you’ll be as prepared as you can possibly be within a year’s time. There may very well be occasions where you’ve already fulfilled the requirements for a given week. That’s great! But, that doesn’t mean you get to take the week off. Use that time to revisit articles from previous weeks and ensure you’re keeping up on those steps.
Make no mistake, there’s going to be a lot of work involved and a fair amount of financial investment along the way. After all, some of us have been at this for many, many years and if you’re starting basically from scratch, you have some catching up to do.
If at any time you have questions or concerns, please feel free to shoot me an email — Jim@SurvivalWeekly.com — and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.
