What happened to the Survival-Gear blog?

Posted on: July 8, 2013

I’ve received more than a few emails or messages asking me what happened to the blog over at Survival-Gear.com. For the uninitiated, I spent just shy of three years writing a daily blog over there. Several of my long-time readers have noticed there have been no new posts there since the end of June.

In short, we’re on hiatus for a bit. Steve and I are working on some other ideas we might implement in the coming weeks. The blog has always had two primary objectives.

1) To provide valuable and targeted content for those who are interested in disaster readiness, emergency preparedness, or any other topics that fall under the ubiquitous “prepper” umbrella.

2) To drive the business of selling survival and preparedness products and gear.

In recent months, we’ve found the second of those objectives not being met to our satisfaction. Rather than continue working with a model that isn’t meeting goals, we’re looking at other options.

I had one person ask me point blank if Steve and I had a falling out or something. Far from it. I feel honored and privileged that I can call Steve one of my closest friends.

Look, if you’ve been reading my stuff for any length of time, whether here, on the SG blog, or my books, you should have figured a few things out by now. First and foremost, I don’t tolerate much in the way of bullshit. Related to this, I’m not much for being politically correct. I’m not a kiss-ass and I’m not going to blow sunshine up anyone’s butt. I don’t put my own name on the line unless I truly believe in the product, service, or business.

With that said…

If you’re in the market for some new gear, perhaps a pre-made kit for your spouse or maybe you have a son or daughter embarking upon their college career next month and would like to give them a few things, just in case, head over to Survival-Gear.com.

Tell ’em Jim sent ya.
