Survival Tips Contest

Posted on: September 26, 2013

We want your survival tips!

And, we’re looking to reward handsomely for the best ones.

Here’s how this contest works. Starting now and running until midnight, Monday, September 30, 2013, send us your very best survival tip. This could be a nifty way to repurpose some common item, maybe an innovative technique for filtering water, or perhaps a great way to store food that others might not have thought of themselves. Whatever it is, make it unique, interesting, and useful.

You can email your tip to Jim@SurvivalWeekly.com or you can send in a message via our Facebook page. Please keep your entry under 200 words if at all possible. Do not send attachments, just type your tip right in the body of the email or message. One tip per entry, please, and one entry per person.

On Tuesday, Oct 1, we’ll set up a page here on the site and post all the tips received. We will then ask our readers to vote for their favorite one. Votes will be collected until Friday, Oct 4. We’ll tally them up and contact the winners over the weekend.

What could you win? We’ll award prizes for the top three vote-getting entries.

First place — A Vigilant Trails “Bug-Out-Box” Survival Kit.

Second place — A survival fiction grab bag, including 299 DAYS by Glen Tate, THE WAYWARD JOURNEY by Nathan Hale Jefferson, and THE DARKNESS AFTER by Scott Williams. Second place also gets a Vigilant Trails Pocket Fishing Kit.

Third place — A signed copy of THE PREPPER’S COMPLETE BOOK OF DISASTER READINESS and a Yo-Yo Fishing Reel. There might also be a surprise or two in the package as well.

So, what are you waiting for? Get your survival tips in today so you don’t forget about it. The entry time frame is pretty short, so get cracking!

  1. When my granddaughter came back from a bear hunt her shoulders were bruised and sore from the back pack straps made me get my old pack out and load a gym weight in it for my morning walk Its taking some time (2 weeks so far) to get toughened up to the straps . Weigh your bob pack and start out with 1/2 the weight work up slowly. My tip for to day
