Countdown to Preparedness

I was thoroughly impressed by the amount of wisdom and information packed into so few words. You don’t have to be an avid reader or have a dense vocabulary to learn vast amounts of prepping-related wisdom from Jim. It’s easy to understand yet covers SO much ground! Whether a seasoned prepper or brand new to the survival niche, I guarantee you’ll learn something from this book. – The Busy B Homemaker (BusyBHomemaker.com)
In the wide variety of topics he covers, you’ll find things you probably haven’t thought of. Weekly tasks or projects are manageable, and they’ll help you eat that daunting preparedness elephant one bite at a time. — John Wesley Smith (DestinySurvival.com)
Jim has written many books on the topic of survival and preparedness but Countdown to Preparedness is by far my favorite to date! This is truly a “survival 101” type of book…. — Patrick Blair (SurvivalAtHome.com)
Many preppers, particularly those new to the journey, struggle with where to begin and how to decide where to best expend their energy. Countdown to Preparedness takes a unique approach to those issues and is set up very much like a college course. Each week, there is a reading assignment and various tasks to be performed. These tasks include setting aside a specific amount of water, purchasing a small amount of food, socking away easy-to-manage amounts of money, and completing homework assignments that relate to the reading for that week.
The book is set up into sections that correlate to the seasons. Once you’ve completed the first ten core assignments, move to the section of the book that corresponds to the season you’re in at that time. There are several assignments that are rather seasonal in nature.
If you diligently follow each week’s assignments, by the end of the book you will be a seasoned prepper and fully stocked to withstand emergencies lasting upwards of three months.
Countdown to Preparedness covers a wide range of topics, such as:
–Calculating food and water storage needs.
–Bringing in extra income.
–Learning wilderness survival skills.
–Gardening.
–Food preservation.
–And tons more!
Even if you’ve been at this whole preparedness thing for years, odds are you’ll find a nugget or two worth your time in this book.
You can find Countdown to Preparedness anywhere books are sold, including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and BAM.
Note: Due to an error when the book was first being assembled, you may find references online to this book containing a “Six-Week Course.” That is indeed an error and Countdown to Preparedness contains a full 52 weeks of learning.
