Realistic Bug Out Planning – One of the most common topics in the prepper/survival world is bugging out. The subject is rife with myths, half-truths, and tons of truly ridiculous information. In this class, we’ll take a practical look at emergency evacuation–what it means and how to prepare for it.

Bug Out Bags 101 — Learn what should be in your bug out bags, get home bags, and other emergency kits. We’ll review every component in detail and talk about different options for all budget levels, including a few items you can make at home. We’ll also talk about common mistakes and items that are often forgotten.

Personal Safety Planning — When you can’t avoid danger, it’s critical to know how to defend yourself. In this class, we’ll discuss the survival mindset, physical defense skills, less-than-lethal and lethal protection tools.

Stop the Bleed — Twenty percent of people who die from traumatic injuries could survive with the aid of quick bleeding control. We’ll review simple tactics — pressure, dressings, and tourniquets — that you can use to stop blood loss before professional help arrives.

Instructors:
Jim Cobb has been studying and living disaster preparedness for over thirty years and is a nationally recognized authority on the subject. He’s authored several books, including Prepper’s Home Defense and Prepper’s Long-Term Survival Guide. Jim is a frequent contributor to relevant magazines such as American Survival Guide, Survivor’s Edge, and RECOIL OFFGRID. He is also Editor in Chief for Prepper Survival Guide magazine. He is a featured instructor in the Make Ready to Survive DVD series from Panteao Productions.

Curt La Haise is a retired police officer, firefighter, and EMT with 20+ years of public safety, security, and preparedness experience. He’s a certified Security Specialist, a Crime Prevention Practitioner, winner of Living Ready Magazine’s and Gun Digest’s “What’s In Your Bug Out Bag?” contest and owner of Guardian Safety & Security Solutions. A founder of Madison Preppers, he’s been featured on television, radio, print, and social media and presents to many local groups and businesses.
